Welcome to Williams Rolfing!

There is good news for everyone who wants more from their body. Our persistent complaints about comfort, flexibility, and performance can usually be addressed by changing the structural balance of our bodies. Rolfing is a process that allows the body to support itself more efficiently and relieves the unnecessary strains that accelerate the wear and tear associated with old age.

What is Rolfing?

If you have noticed good posture in the people around you then you have noticed the health and vigor that come with it. Health is intimately involved with posture because good health comes from physical balance in the body. Everything we do requires physical support from our bodies and better support leads to better performance, happier lives, and more enthusiasm for our activities. Rolfing is a Structural Integration technique that unties the constrictions in our body structure and reorganizes it to be more supportive.

Want to try Rolfing?

Rolfing is not expensive. It costs approximately the same amount as a massage. Rolfing sessions are one and a half hours long and cost $120 per hour. This makes a typical adult session cost $180. Appointments for children or the elderly are usually shorter in duration.

What are the Benefits?

Sit, stand, and walk comfortably. These everyday experiences are uncomfortable for most people. This is why most people lean against a desk or shift their weight restlessly from foot to foot while they talk to you at work. If you have noticed the way people shift back and forth in their chairs at dinner or in a movie theater then you are seeing the same problem. Most people grow uncomfortable with one position after a short period of time because their bodies cannot easily support them. Many people have problems sleeping for the same reason.

Perform better in athletics and physical hobbies. People who use their bodies competitively or recreationally will get the benefits provided by highly functional joints and the spontaneous adaptive movements of youth. Movement speeds up when good posture is effortless and natural.

Rolfing, Chiropractic, or Massage?

There is a revolution taking place in American medicine. People seeking alternatives to surgery and medications are exploring the potential of less invasive techniques and are often led to the fields of Chiropractic and Massage.

Rolfing is different from both primarily because of its focus on the soft tissue that affects the relationship between posture and health. Posture is the result of the body’s balance in gravity. A Rolfer is working towards a body that is upright and relaxed in gravity. A body organized in this way is free of pain and does not struggle with any of the normal movements or biological processes. This balance is experienced as ease with every motion. Other people notice this grace as “good posture”.
